| CAS firearms calibers
are restricted to what are termed pistol (revolver) calibers.
As the history of the west developed the cowboy would carry a
revolver and rifle that where chambered for the same bullet calibre,
i.e. both revolver and rifle would be chambered for 44.40 (44WCF).
Centre fire calibers are no less than .32 and not greater than, .45,
percussion not less than .36 and more than .45, i.e. 32-20, .32
Magnum, .357 Magnum, .38 Special, .44 Magnum, .44-40 or .45 Colt.
.22LR Standard is used in Buckaroo category and side matches.
Shotguns are limited to minimum 20gage to max 10gage, with .410 for
Buckaroo. Larger rifle calibers can be used for long distance and Buffalo silhouette type shooting, pistol caliber classes are also held in these categories. Examples of larger calibers used are 45-70, 45-90 used in Sharps, Springfield's etc. |

| I have used the Uberti pamphlets for examples, as these are my favourites, but there are other very good manufacturers, with many varied choices. | |
